Playdate NoVA helps parents find kid-friendly places, events, birthday ideas, and weekend activities in Northern Virginia. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when you create an account, sign in, save favorites, join the newsletter, or send a sponsor inquiry. This can include your name, email address, home city, selected child age ranges, saved activities, newsletter preferences, business contact details, and messages you submit.

Google Sign-In

If you choose Google sign-in, Google may share your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier with Playdate NoVA. We use this information only to create or connect your Playdate NoVA account and let you sign in securely.

How We Use Information

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us host, secure, analyze, or operate the site. We may also disclose information if required by law or needed to protect the service, users, or the public.

Cookies and Security

Playdate NoVA uses cookies or similar technology for sign-in sessions, security, and basic site operation. We use reasonable safeguards to protect account information, but no website can guarantee perfect security.

First Party Measurement

We count when a newsletter or business partnership offer is visible, opened, or completed so we can understand which pages are useful. This measurement uses a temporary anonymous session identifier, the page, the offer location, and limited campaign information. The measurement record does not include your email address, IP address, or browser user agent. This also includes aggregate visits to personal referral-progress pages and signup pages reached through a shared link. We respect browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals for these measurements.

Newsletter Engagement Measurement

Newsletter messages may include a one-pixel image and individualized links that let us estimate whether an issue was opened and which outing links were selected. We store the newsletter issue, anonymous delivery identifier, event type, time, and a broad classification used to exclude obvious automated traffic. We do not store an IP address, raw browser user agent, or email address in the engagement event. Open counts are estimates because inbox image blocking and privacy proxies can suppress or inflate them.

Advertising, Cookies, and Google

Playdate NoVA uses Google AdSense and may use other advertising services. Google and other third party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads, measure ad performance, limit repeated ads, and personalize advertising where allowed.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites. You can manage Google ad personalization at Google Ad Settings. You can also learn about choices for interest based advertising at aboutads.info choices.

Your Choices

You can choose not to create an account, unsubscribe from the Weekend Planner, or contact us to request account deletion or data updates.

Creating a Playdate NoVA profile also subscribes that email address to the Weekend Planner. You can also subscribe without creating a profile. We use your email address and any name, location, child age range, or preferences you provide to send local activity ideas and messages about your subscription. We use email delivery providers to send these messages. We do not sell this information. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. After you unsubscribe, we keep the minimum record needed to honor your choice and prevent unwanted email.
