Arlington families can choose a private gym, a larger indoor play space, a nature center, or an outdoor game party. The right answer depends on age, guest count, weather, food, and how much setup you want to handle yourself.
A nature center party asks the family to bring food and handle more of the setup. A private gym puts more of the activity and cleanup on the staff. A large indoor play venue gives children more room but may share the play floor with other families. Start with the experience your child will enjoy, then compare the total cost.
Long Branch Nature Center starts at $227 for Arlington residents and allows the birthday child to invite up to 17 friends. Gulf Branch Nature Center starts at $220 for residents and allows up to 15 friends. Both are for ages four and older and include a live animal program.
Potomac Overlook Regional Park starts at $175 and includes a three hour auditorium reservation plus a hands on nature program. Guests use the main parking lot and walk to the nature center, so tell families what to expect before party day.
Upton Hill Regional Park starts at $100 for 10 participants and combines unlimited mini golf, batting cages, and a shaded party area. The package is seasonal and families bring their own food, drinks, and decorations. It is a better fit for children who can follow the games than for toddlers.
The Little Gym Arlington costs $460 for up to 15 children and gives the group private use of the gym with two instructors. Scramble Falls Church starts at $450 for 10 children at a reserved table or $750 for 15 children in a private room. Scramble includes food and a coordinator, but the table package uses a shared play floor.
Ask whether tax, service charges, food, adult guests, added children, favors, setup, and cleanup are included. A lower starting price can become the more expensive choice once the final head count and food rules are clear. Get the full amount in writing before paying a deposit.
The Arlington nature centers ask families to request a date at least three weeks ahead. Weekend gym and indoor play times can fill earlier, especially during winter. Outdoor packages are seasonal, so keep one weather backup in mind before sending invitations.
Upton Hill starts at $100 for 10 participants when the seasonal package is available. Potomac Overlook starts at $175 for its nature center package.
Long Branch, Gulf Branch, Potomac Overlook, Upton Hill, and The Little Gym all have options that fit elementary age children.
The Little Gym includes instructors, paper goods, setup, and cleanup. Scramble includes food and a coordinator, while nature center and outdoor packages require more family setup.
Nature center requests should start at least three weeks ahead. Popular weekend gym and indoor play times are safer to reserve six to eight weeks ahead.
