One Loudoun with kids

One Loudoun works best when you choose one main activity before you arrive. The plaza has free summer concerts, movie nights, a seasonal splash pad, markets, and a carnival on selected dates.

Quick answer

For a free short outing, use the seasonal splash pad or a Monday kids concert. For a bigger visit, check the dated carnival, Moonlight Market, or movie schedule first. The official calendar changes through the season, so choose the event before promising food, rides, or a long evening.

The easiest free plan

The official One Loudoun information page says the plaza splash pad is open daily from 10 AM to 9 PM from early spring through early fall, when weather and safety conditions allow. It sits near Alamo Cinema. Pair it with a short walk or food stop instead of treating it like a full water park day.

Kids concerts and movies

The 2026 kids concert series brings Rocknoceros to the plaza at 11 AM on Mondays through August 31. Movie nights start later. The August 27 showing of Hoppers begins at 8 PM in One Loudoun Park, and the official page tells families to bring chairs and blankets. Use the current event cards below for the next concert and the official One Loudoun calendar for schedule changes.

For a paid indoor movie, use the Alamo One Loudoun parent guide. Children five and under need a screening specifically labeled All Ages or Family Friendly, so a family movie title by itself is not enough.

Carnival costs more than entry

The official August carnival page lists August 12 through August 23 at One Loudoun Uptown. Entry is free, but rides use tickets or wristbands. Weekday hours start at 5 PM, Saturday hours start at 1 PM, and Sunday hours start at 3 PM. Decide the ride budget before arriving because free admission does not make the outing free.

Moonlight Market is an evening stop

The official Moonlight Market page lists Fridays from August 14 through October 30, from 5 PM to 9 PM. Entry is free and the market is open to all ages. It is a shopping and food plan, so bring a separate activity for a child who will not enjoy browsing vendor tables.

Bathrooms, parking, and a backup

One Loudoun publishes a different address for some plaza, park, and Uptown events. Open the exact event page before driving and use its map link. The public pages reviewed on July 23 do not give one bathroom or parking rule for every event. Check posted signs when you arrive, and keep the Loudoun indoor play page ready if heat, storms, or a tired child change the plan.
